CLOSERThanMOST Dekker slim-fit skinhead shirt

Did you used to like Ben Sherman? Do you think it’s gone a bit rubbish in recent decades?
If you answered ‘yes’ to both those questions then you’re probably going to be a fan of the Dekker shirt from British label CLOSERThanMOST.
It’s unashamedly inspired by ska, scooters and skinheads. We know this because it says so on CLOSERThanMOST’s website and because it’s glaringly obvious from the moment you start to inspect the shirt.
There’s the button down collar that you’d expect from a shirt with those influences. The collar has a nice roll to it and, naturally, a button at the back of the collar, too.
Other nice attention-to-detail includes the sleeve buttons.
The cotton for the shirt – a terracotta-ish check – was sourced in Italy and the shirt was made in England.
The fit is better than you’d expect from any Sherman these days. Work to the chest sizes given rather than just opting for your usual size and you should be fine.
CLOSERThanMOST seem to operate in fairly small runs of their items. They plan it, they make it, they sell it – when it’s gone, it’s gone.
In other words, if you want to own the Dekker, it’s better to act sooner rather than late.
