Adidas Originals Montreal 76 OG Trainers

Do you find the whole pulling your shoes on thing to be a bit of waste of time? Are you baffled by trying to tie laces?
If you answered ‘yes’ to either of those questions, these are the trainers for you – and you’ve got knackered German footballers with big sideburns to thank for them.
The Montreal 76 OG was originally designed for the Germany football team to wear at the Montreal Olympics in 1976 (that’s where the name comes from, y’see?). There was no way Adidas were going to have Die Mannschaft bending over to put their post-match footwear on after 90 minutes of super-intense olympische Fußball. With that in mind, they designed a trainer with a high midsole and counter-collapsing rubber heel that could easily be slipped on. No need to touch those pesky laces.
This is the first Montreal 76 OG reissue since 2011, so don’t hang around if you fancy a pair.
